Title
The history of coffee
Artist
Vali Irina Ciobanu
Medium
Painting - Egg Tempera On Leather
Description
Painted on leather, with egg tempera, this map depicts the history of coffee from the discovery of the magical beans (by a shepherd called Kally) right up to the first coffee shops.
The impressive details of the map itself are only emphasised and beautified by the several detail insertions illustrating historic moments of the aromatic black beans.
The technique used is quite spectacular and most beautiful, conferring a sensation of grandeur when paired with the large scale of the artwork.
