Description
It's sentimental image of the village where I grew up. Here is the my native village seen from the ''Cocoana Hill ".When we were young we thought the sled hill. Every time I reach the top after a strenuous climb, looked over the village. The image was imprinted on my retina and every time I think the Valea Popii, close my eyes and see this image again .

Thank you for commenting on my image, "Stone Gravesites". In 1970, I had the opportunity to visit Bucharest and Sinaia. I guess we must have been very close to Valea Popii or possibly driven through it. I really like the vivid colors in this painting, because the one thing that stayed in my mind from my visit to Romania was the limited amount of bright colors in the few photographs I took there---a lot of dark blues, browns, and grey. I currently have only one image of Romania on my website, "Bucharest 1970". It is a digitally modified image of a balloon man where I selected the color of the balloons and converted the remainder of the image to black and white because there was little color anyway. I have a few other images from my visit that I will put up in the next couple of weeks. Wonderful painting. bobp
